CASA of the Eastern Panhandle is entering a new chapter, and we are excited to share who will be leading the way.
We are proud to announce the appointment of Elizabeth “Beth” McCoy as our incoming Executive Director, joining the organization on June 8th, 2026.
Beth brings more than 25 years of servant leadership to this role. Her career with Berkeley County Schools gave her firsthand experience with the challenges children and families face, and a deep understanding of what it takes to build systems of support that truly work. She was known for leading with purpose, building inclusive environments, and keeping the needs of children at the center of every decision.
That foundation makes her a natural fit for CASA-EP.
Her vision is straightforward and powerful: no child should face the unknowns of the foster care system alone. Every child deserves a supportive atmosphere where they can thrive and heal. That belief is at the heart of what our volunteer advocates do every day, and it is the lens through which Beth will lead this organization.
Kim Himes, current Board President, expressed excitement around Beth’s appointment as Executive Director:
“I am truly excited to welcome Beth as the new Executive Director. Beth’s leadership, heart for CASA’s mission, and passion for advocating for children will continue to move our organization forward, strengthening and expanding our impact for the children we serve.
For Beth, this role is a continuation of her life’s work.
“I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve the children of the Eastern Panhandle in a different capacity outside of the public school setting. My time with the school system has given me a strong foundation and a unique skill set that I believe will be an asset to CASA-EP. The mission of CASA has always been important to me as I believe that every child should be given an opportunity to thrive in a supportive community. I am eager to build on the success that Michelle has brought to the organization.”
CASA-EP currently has approximately 70 active volunteer advocates serving children across Berkeley, Jefferson, and Morgan counties. As we grow, the need for trained advocates continues to increase. Beth’s experience in building and sustaining systems of support puts her in a strong position to meet that challenge and expand our reach.
We are grateful for the strong foundation built under Michelle’s leadership, and we are ready for what comes next.
