At CASA of the Eastern Panhandle, we work closely with social workers every day. Their dedication, resilience, and compassion are essential to protecting children and helping families navigate some of life’s most difficult moments.
The Work Behind the Title
Social workers are often the first to step in when a child’s safety or stability is at risk. They assess situations, coordinate services, and help families access the resources they need to move forward.
Their role is complex. They balance high caseloads, urgent decisions, and emotionally demanding situations, all while working toward outcomes that prioritize the safety and well-being of children.
They are advocates, problem-solvers, and steady presences in moments of uncertainty.
A Shared Commitment to Children
At CASA-EP, our volunteers work alongside social workers as partners in advocacy.
While social workers manage multiple cases and coordinate services across systems, CASA volunteers focus on one child at a time by building relationships, gathering insights, and ensuring that each child’s voice is clearly represented in court.
Together, this partnership creates a more complete picture for judges and decision-makers. This helps ensure children receive the support, stability, and services they need.
