A GENEROUS COMMUNITY DONOR WILL MATCH $1 FOR EVERY CHILD THAT PARTICIPATES IN FREEDOM’S RUN

The CASA-EP and Freedom’s Run have joined together to advocate for kids and healthy activity in the Eastern Panhandle!

CASA-EP volunteers host race registration at the Kids Fun Run, part of the Freedom’s Run race series. This one-mile race through Shepherdstown, WV is free for youth of all ages and families to enjoy. Children and families can participate in the Fun Run while also supporting the CASA-EP Superhero Challenge. Costumes are encouraged and the first 100 children to sign up receive their own cape and face mask to wear as they journey through Shepherdstown, cheered on by visitors, family and friends.

Special thanks to
Dr. Mark Cucuzella

for his enthusiastic support for CASA kids and partnership with the Superhero Challenge.

Join us October 7 for the one-mile Kids Fun Run through Shepherdstown.

• Kids participate free in both – Volunteers will be present on Friday night at swag bag pickup for Freedom’s Runners to help register participants of all ages for the Fun Run and Superhero Challenge.

• First 100 kids to register get a Superhero cape and face mask.

• Wear your favorite superhero gear or DIY costume as we cross the finish line on the Shepherd University campus!

ABOUT FREEDOM’S RUN

The Freedom’s Run was created by Dr. Mark Cucuzzella and Lois Turco to promote a healthier lifestyle in what is known as one of the most unhealthy states in the country. In the 10+ years since the race’s inception, Freedom’s Run has created a running boom through our small region and provided locals with a way to keep active and showcase our beautiful region. Through the Freedom’s Run Grant, we’ve been able to donate over $400,00 to providing our community with local trails at their schools and youth and adult camps. So come join us and be a part of the West Virginia Running Revolution!

Freedom’s Run is an event put on through the Freedom’s Run Race Series. The Freedom’s Run Race Series includes Harper’s Ferry Half & 5k, the Freedom’s Run Event held in October, and Camp River Runners. The Race Series is guided by the Eastern Area Health Education Center of WVU Medicine, a non-profit whose mission is service to the community. Proceeds from all Freedom’s Run events are put to the Freedom’s Run Grant, a community grant service that promotes health and wellness throughout the nine county service area that is the Eastern Panhandle of WV.  So if you hear mention of Freedom’s Run and Harper’s Ferry Half together, now you know why!
