In 1982 we were founded by representatives from sixteen Berkeley County churches who were looking for a way to help residents of Berkeley County. These churches came together hoping that by pooling together they could accomplish more.

Berkeley County Congregational Cooperative Action Project, Inc., or CCAP, was founded in 1982 by representatives of 16 Berkeley County churches for the purpose of providing emergency food and financial assistance to low income and underserved residents of Berkeley County.

When the food pantry was opened, our name became CCAP/Loaves&Fishes.

Over the years, the organization’s support has grown to include many more churches as well as individuals, local businesses and corporations, civic organizations, other non-profits and schools.
