CASA-EP volunteers participate in a nationally-accredited training and development program that consists of 35 hours of pre-service training. Classes are conducted online, in person and through independent study. We’re especially excited in 2021 to introduce Guided Learning as an entirely online, self-paced option. This means training can fit with your schedule and pace, which works especially well for those who are balancing school or employment with volunteer activity. In-Person Virtual and Hybrid Training is led by CASA-EP staff and the next class will begin August 23rd.
During CASA new volunteer training, you’ll learn the following and more!
- The Well-Being of a Child
- Trauma, Resilience
- Mental Health, Poverty
- Substance Abuse
- Domestic Violence and Cultural Competence
- Older Youth
The first step in becoming a court advocate is completing the Volunteer Inquiry Form so a staff member can contact you and answer any questions.
