About CASA of the Eastern Panhandle
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of the Eastern Panhandle works to ensure that children who have experienced abuse or neglect have a dedicated, trained volunteer advocate to amplify their voice and support their best interests. Through strong partnerships with the courts, child welfare agencies, and the community, CASA provides consistent advocacy for children during some of the most critical moments of their lives.
Position Overview
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of CASA of the Eastern Panhandle and provides overall leadership, management, and strategic direction for the organization. Reporting to the Board of Directors, this role oversees program quality, volunteer engagement, fundraising, financial stewardship, staff leadership, and community relations, while ensuring compliance with National and State CASA standards.

What You’ll Do
- Lead and advance CASA’s mission through strategic, operational, and financial leadership.
- Partner with the Board of Directors to set priorities, support governance, and strengthen organizational effectiveness.
- Oversee high-quality advocacy programs that support children, volunteers, and families.
- Cultivate relationships with community partners, funders, donors, and stakeholders.
- Serve as the public face and voice of CASA of the Eastern Panhandle.
- Lead and support a dedicated team of staff and volunteers.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Business, Public Administration, Law, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible leadership or administrative experience in a nonprofit, public service, or volunteer-driven organization.
- Demonstrated success in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and financial oversight.
- Proven ability to build relationships with boards, community leaders, funders, and partners.
- Strong communication, strategic thinking, and people leadership skills.
- A collaborative, adaptable leadership style grounded in integrity and accountability.
Work Location & Schedule
This role is predominantly in-person, reflecting the importance of relationship-building, team leadership, and community presence. Occasional remote work may be exercised at the Executive Director’s discretion when operationally appropriate and aligned with organizational priorities.
To support the mission and the communities we serve, evening and weekend commitments are occasionally required, including attendance at court proceedings, community events, and Board activities.
